Sorghum Roti Recipe (Jowar Roti)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Jowar flour (sorghum flour)
- Hot water – as needed
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Boil water and keep it hot – don’t use cold water.
- In a mixing bowl, take the jowar flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add hot water and mix using a spoon or spatula.
- Once it’s cool enough to touch, knead the dough until it becomes smooth and pliable. Cover it with a cloth and rest for 5–10 minutes.
- Divide into small balls. Flatten each using your palms and gently roll with a wooden roller between two sheets of parchment or using light flour.
- Heat a tawa or skillet. Cook the roti on both sides, pressing gently with a cloth or spatula until it puffs up and has brown spots.
- Serve hot with yogurt, chutney, dal curry, or just homemade ghee!
